About
- Besides developing an academic career in teaching and research at institutions like Georgetown University, Malmo University (Sweden) and Shanghai International Studies University (China), I have built a C4D profile since the early 2000s, linking two areas: Strategic Communications (campaigns, advocacy, outreach and engagement efforts, ICTs and Knowledge Management) and Development Management.
- Under the former, Strategic Communications-related areas, I have developed strategic communications approaches, conducted consultations with varied stakeholders, developed research, trained and advised government officers on communications-related themes, produced web and knowledge portals and audiovisual products of different type
- Under the latter, I managed and coordinated projects such as the UNESCO Audiovisual E-Platform (2007-2010) and the UNESCO Media and Elections Project (2012-2014), that involved budget responsibilities, coordination of teams and donor relations.
- These two dimensions have converted me in a passionate individual about the application of communications tools, strategies and solutions but also in the engagement of key stakeholders to development themes such as good governance, poverty reduction, gender equality, education, youth and food security among others.
- Since the beginning of my career I have coordinated online platforms engaging communities of practice, such as RECOL Network (2000-2001), the UN Women initiative 'Women for a Better World' (2010-2012) and the UNDP ACIAC (Anti-Corruption and Integrity Network).
- Participation and consultation processes engaging stakeholders of different nature (civil society, academia, private sector, governments, media...) and designed and executed a number of campaigns such as the International Anti-Corruption Day (UNDP, 2012-2013) has been a component at the core of my career, not only under the UN but also as academic researcher.
- Media has been an essential component of my work in the last decades and I have tried to develop ways not only to interact but also to engage and to sensitize journalists in the themes addressed by the Organizations that I worked for.
- This involved training to media and field trips and media partnerships with major corporations.
- Content creation has been at the core of my tasks and I have produced leaflets, brochures, videos, reports of different nature (annual, evaluation, donors...), online tools, toolkits and guidelines documents among others.
