About
With my background in general project management, mental health care, psychosocial work, gender based violence, educational sciences and psychotherapy, I have much to offer in the way of diversity of experience and professional skills.
I am currently working for HealthNetTPO, a Netherlands based NGO working on development of health programs in fragile states and for refugee population and with a specific attention for women and girls. Between 2004 and 2014 I have managed a portfolio of several projects with a total turnover of some 8 million Euros while travelling on a regular base to Afghanistan, Burundi, Cambodia, Colombia, Myanmar, Nort Iraq, Pakistan and South Sudan to support our foreign colleagues in the organization, management and coordination of activities in accordance with our policies and defined objectives. As a senior program manager, I have been responsible for programs from the beginning (writing proposals, capacity building staff, development of tools and modules) to the end (implementation of services, collecting data and writing reports).
From January 2014 till August 2015 I have been the head of Mission of HealthNet TPO in Burundi. This position permitted me to reinforce my managerial and organizational related skills. The national team in Burundi that consist of 120 staff members in now capable to execute four large programs in seven provinces of the country.
From 2015 onwards I am the Head of the Research & Development Department of HealthNet TPO. Major purpose of the programs within my portfolio is to intervene within the realm of (mental) health for people that live in fragile states while enhancing awareness and participation among girls, women and men in order to address controversial issues as gender equity and women empowerment. This then leads to concrete project implementation to improve health, mitigate violence and increase self-reliance. Important part of my job is the monitoring of the effects of interventions followed by operational research in order to build the evidence base to disseminate successful models and intervention strategies.
