Akeem is a Chartered Accountant (enrolled with CPA ON) with years of professional experience, over five of which was with a Big 4 accounting firm and another over five years with Not For Profit Organisations (NFPO). Experienced professional, skilled in financial statement audit and grant management having worked in the private and the development aid sectors, recently a Senior Finance Expert with GFA Consulting Group in Nigeria, a Fiduciary Agent for The Global Fund (TGF) to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

An exceptional leader with a strong ability to integrate within multicultural teams, and a genuine and proven record of leading Audit and Accounting initiatives with stellar results.

Akeem worked previously with Ernst & Young in the Assurance and Advisory Business Services and was involved primarily in the Assurance and Business Advisory Services where he worked in various sectors of the firm including diverse consulting assignments. In 2012, he worked in their Dublin, Ireland Office for international exposure and attended various financial and management training interventions to build his capacity.

He is competent in programme development in terms of capacity building, design and implementation of grants, corporate financial audit and strengthening of financial systems and processes.  He is experienced in managing close out of completed grants, including review and assessment of final progress, financial reports and verification of all final reports. He reviews and evaluates grantee requests for changes, such as changes in budgets, project plans, and personnel in the program.
