Only relevant to Global Fellowships

Please be aware that Switzerland is an Associated Country in the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions – MSCA (http://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/data/ref/h2020/other/hi/h2020-hi-swiss-part_en.pdf).

As a consequence, in Global Fellowships (GF) host institutions can also be established in Switzerland, while partner organisations for the initial outgoing phase cannot be established in Switzerland, as this is not considered a Third Country (i.e. countries which are neither EU Member States nor associated to Horizon 2020) in the MSCA actions.

Therefore a Global Fellowship with a Swiss partner organisation would not be eligible. On the same line, researchers who are national or long-term residents of Switzerland are eligible to participate in a Global Fellowships.

If you already registered in the Participant Portal a proposal with a Swiss partner organisation, please be aware that you can revise (re-edit) it and select another partner organisation from a Third Country until the call deadline, i.e. 10th September, 17:00:00. More information on this step can be found in Page 46 of the Proposal Submission Service User Manual (http://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/data/support/sep_usermanual.pdf).

Otherwise, the proposal may still be eligible as Standard European Fellowship.

Only relevant to Global Fellowships

Please be aware that in the tab 1 – General Information the text “Duration in months” has been changed to “Duration for outgoing phase in 3rd country”.
For sake of clarity, the total project duration in Global Fellowships is between 24 and 36 months, which includes:
-  Between 12 and 24 months of an initial outgoing phase in a partner organisation in a Third Country;
-  12 months of mandatory return phase in the host institution located in a Member State or Associated Country.
If you already submitted a proposal, please be aware that you can modify it until the call deadline, i.e. 10th September, 17:00:00. More information on this can be found in Page 46 of the Proposal Submission Service User Manual (http://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/data/support/sep_usermanual.pdf)

Topic Description

Proposals for Global Fellowships involve a single host organisation (future beneficiary) established in a MS or AC. The project proposals are submitted by this host organisation, which is represented by the supervisor, in liaison with the researcher.

Global Fellowships are composed of an outgoing phase during which the researcher spends 1 to 2 years on secondment to a partner organisation in a Third Country, plus a mandatory 12-month return period to a host organisation (the beneficiary) located in a Member State or Associated Country.

For Global Fellowships the applicants can submit their proposals as GF to one of the 8 main evaluation panels [1]
