Description

Horizon Europe, the research and innovation program initiated by the European Union with the goal of stimulating the EU’s growth, trade and investment, calls for fair, healthy and environmentally-friendly food systems from primary production to consumption with the program, “Agroecological approaches for sustainable weed management”, the goal of which is to assist the farm-to-fork strategy's goal of transitioning to a more equitable, healthy and robust European agriculture. Specifically, it aims to promote agroecology and minimize the overall use and risk of chemical pesticides by demonstrating the potential of agroecology to offer alternative weeding practices that decrease or eliminate the use of the herbicides derived from pesticides. The planned opening date is October 28, 2021. The deadlines are February 15, 2022, 17:00:00 Brussels time, and September 6, 2022, 17:00:00 Brussels time.
