Legal & Governance Specialist

SCOPE OF THIS POSITION

Reporting to the Chief Financial and Administration Officer (CFAO), the Legal and Governance Specialist shall offer counsel on all governance and legal issues of the organisation, including but not limited to the development and implementation of strategies and policies within governance and legal areas, review and draft contracts, memorandums of understanding, and partnership agreements;  and acting as a guardian of the organisation by ensuring compliance, safeguarding, and minimal risk exposure.

Additionally, the Legal and Governance Specialist will be expected to provide support to GWP’s various governance bodies, including the Global Steering Committee, the Nomination Committee, the Network Partners, and the Sponsoring Partners Group. The Legal and Governance Specialist will also interface with our Regional Water Partnerships and Country Water Partnerships on legal and governance issues when so is required by the Executive Secretary or mandated by the nature of the programmatic or core work of the organisation.
