General description of the position:

The Expert will advise the Operations Team in analytical and policy forming tasks, as well as develop and deliver relevant training curriculum and materials on relevant thematic areas. Experts selected under this contract have to be able to include a gender perspective in their work and to pay attention to gender equality and women's empowerment in the fulfilment of their mandate, in line with the requirements of the EU's Gender Action Plan III 2021-2025 (https://ec.europa.eu/ international-partnerships/system/files/join-2020-17-final_en.pdf). More specifically, experts selected under this contract will be required to promote equal participation and to produce inclusive, gender sensitive content that departs from existing gender stereotypes and empowers women and girls The experts will prepare relevant training materials such as handouts/supporting documents for participants. Prior to the follow up/refresher trainings or meetings in second and third year, the experts will conduct need assessments with the CSOs on specific areas of supports needed during the implementation phase. Results and recommendations gathered from previous trainings should be taken into considerations. Provision of technical assistance by the expert can include capacity building activities and events such as consultation meetings, training workshops, study visits, and awareness raising activities including production of visibility materials to increase EU visibility and CSOs profile of their contribution to project implementation. Experts will support in organisation of events/meetings among CSOs and with the EU and other relevant stakeholders to promote partnership and sharing lessons and information.

The expert may identify and invite speakers/resource persons for specific subjects related to the priorities to take part in these activities in agreement with the Operations Team. The number of these speakers/resource persons is indicatively maximum 3 per event/activity.

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Communication, Public relations, Journalism, International relations or Marketing. Skills: - Facilitation and (verbal and written) communication skills, - Initiative-taking.

General professional experience:

  • At least 3 years’ of experience in the field of strategic communications, public relations< marketing, or advertising.

Specific professional experience:

  • Proven track record of writing a variety of written communication products: scripts, stories, articles, speeches, blog posts, - Experience in developing and delivering interactive trainings would be an asset.

Language skills:

  • Needs to be fluent in English and Russian.
