This is a 6-12-month** mandate in La Paz or Cochabamba, Bolivia.  
 
The mandate is under the Equality in Action Volunteer Cooperation Program (VCP), which takes place in 12 countries and 3 regions over a eight-year period (2020-2028). The VCP aims to increase the involvement of local partners in countries of intervention in inclusive, innovative and sustainable initiatives that will advance gender equality. Oxfam's role is to support these organizations, working with the most vulnerable and marginalized people, to claim and exercise their rights. Oxfam places the rights of women, girls, and vulnerable and marginalized people at the heart of everything it does.
 
Here's what your daily life will look like:  
 

In close collaboration with the local partner organization and Oxfam’s in-country team members, your mandate will be to:

  • Support the local partner organization in the joint development of a feminist institutional communication strategy, aligned with its strategic plan, with a gender and human rights approach;  
  • Support the development of an institutional graphic line that enables the design and development of awareness-raising and training materials for allied populations with whom the partner organization works;
  • Strengthen the local partner organization in the construction and production of printed and audiovisual material, in line with the institutional communication strategy and Oxfam's values and principles;  
  • Strengthen the local partner organization in the creation of spaces for knowledge exchange and capacity building of its members, in terms of communication strategy. 
For this mandate you must :
 
  • Be a Canadian citizen or have permanent resident status in Canada;
  • Have a university degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Technology, Administration, or other relevant field;
  • Have 2 years of relevant experience to the mandate (in building and implementing communication strategies); 
  • Be fluent in Spanish, spoken and written (required); 
  • Master the Office suite and the following softwares: Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, SPS and/or Adobe Premier Pro. 
 What we offer:
  • Monthly allowance for living expenses;
    • 20% increase in the allowance per accompanying child (maximum of 2 children)
    • 1,500$ CAD per year/per child for school fees;
  • Monthly housing allowance;
  • Round trip flight with 2 checked luggage;
    • Round trip flight for accompanying child(ren)
  • 200$ CAD for additional luggage;
  • Advantageous medical insurance for you and the accompanying child(ren);
  • A volunteer support program during your mandate and up to two months after the end of your mandate;
  • 20 days of vacation and other holidays;
  • Access to various training courses (E-Learning, etc.);
  • A rewarding experience with a well-known and recognized organization.
**For mandates shorter than 12 months, conditions are different.
