FIDH (International Federation for Human Rights) is an international human rights NGO. Since 1922, we have been committed to the defence of all civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights as defined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

We are a federation of 192 national human rights organisations active in 117 countries. We believe that the transformation of societies is first and foremost the responsibility of local actors. Our activities aim to strengthen their capacity for action and influence.

The International Secretariat of the FIDH is a human-sized organisation (45 employees in Paris and 14 employees in several offices abroad) and composed of a committed international team. Our Paris office is located in a lively and central area of Paris (near Bastille and Gare de Lyon).

We are recruiting :

A Fundraising officer with individual donors (M/F)

General objective of the position :
Within the Fundraising department, which consists of 4 employees including you, and under the supervision of the Director, you will manage direct marketing in order to collect funds from individual donors (excluding major donors) and participate in the development of new private funding sources.

Your main responsibilities :

A. Donor acquisition and retention, with a view to building strong relationships through timely and relevant communications

Propose and implement a multi-channel plan to solicit existing donors
Manage donor requests, all channels
Manage the related communication (thanks, newsletters, etc.)
Managing donations : entering them into the Salesforce database, sending tax receipts, managing donations from different sources (online via the Helloasso platform, via the ethical and solidarity-based investment fund Human Rights Fund).

B. Prospecting for new donors

Search for new donors, propose innovative actions
Managing digital collection operations : implementing campaigns and communication tools aimed at prospective customers, in consultation with the communication department and in liaison with service providers (drawing up specifications, preparing the budget, defining the price of services and the methodology for each campaign).

C. Optimising fundraising from individuals

Propose and implement the annual donor resource development plan and develop the related budget
Ensure the optimisation and relevance of the proposed channels with regard to the target donors with a view to optimisation and cross-fertilisation
Ensure budget monitoring and follow-up of annual online and offline objectives. Suggesting areas for improvement based on the performance of the operations carried out
Coordinate the production of visual materials for individual donors
Administering the Salesforce database :
◦ prepare donor monitoring plans,
◦ analyse and optimise fundraising from individuals,
◦ coordinate the developments in Salesforce,
◦ participate in the coordination and training of users in the use of Salesforce with IT or an external provider.

D. Development of the FIDH strategy and capacity building

Contribute to the overall fundraising strategy and to the strategic thinking of the flexible funds in its core business.
To contribute to the development of employees’ skills in the field of fundraising.

Profile required

  • You must have at least 5 years of successful experience in a similar position, preferably in an association or NGO.
  • You must be familiar with fundraising techniques. You have a thorough knowledge of philanthropic perspectives on individual giving in France.
  • You are a self-starter with excellent writing skills and a thorough understanding of the design and implementation of online and offline fundraising campaigns.
  • Knowledge of human rights and/or international development issues is an asset.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills. You are organised and rigorous. You are alert. You are able to analyse, negotiate and convince.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and/or a similar database is essential. Ideally, you know Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign) and Canva.
  • Fluency in French (C2) and English (B2), both written and spoken.
  • Mastery of Libre Office and Pack Office.

Terms and conditions of pay

  • Permanent contract. Position based in Paris. Teleworking possible with a minimum of 4 face-to-face days per month.
  • Salary from 33.2 K€ gross per year over 13 months.
  • 25 days paid holiday and 24 days RTT per year.
  • Supplementary health insurance: employer’s contribution of €82.39 per month.
  • Restaurant vouchers with a face value of 9 €, 60% of which is paid by the FIDH.
  • 50% of the cost of the public transport pass is covered.
