Legal / Institutional Expert

We intend to identify legal/institutional experts for possible projects in the sector of water and sanitation with working experience in the eastern and southern African region.

The experts should be experienced in

• International water law, water-related legal frameworks, policy analysis, as well as water sector regulations in developing countries;
• Institutional experience, e.g. analysis of national and transboundary institutions, design, reform and development of institutions;
• Strategy development for the water sector;
• Drafting legal documents such as financing agreements for donor-financed projects.

The minimum requirements are as follows:

• University degree in law, institutional and policy studies or equivalent;
• At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in international water law, institutional assessment, reform and development, policy analysis, sector regulation, and legal framework analysis;
• At least 5 years of experience in development cooperation projects;
• At least 5 years of experience in the eastern and southern African region;
• Very good English skills.
