Reporting:

The Senior Integrating Writer reports to the Senior Director, Bid Quality and Design Department (BQDD). The position works closely with other members of the BQDD, Business Development Department (BDD), and the Growth Office (GO) and collaborates with programs and technical staff across the company.

Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Research, write, and edit technical material for proposals
  • Participate in proposal strategy, design, writing, and review sessions with technical teams and other GO staff
  • Review and contribute to proposal outlines and compliance matrices
  • As required, interview subject matter experts or revise text prepared by experts to develop proposal inputs
  • Review, integrate, edit, and proofread proposal pieces and final text for clarity, consistency, and responsiveness to RFP requirements, in preparation for Blue and Red Team reviews and final production
  • Develop and write proposal sections/subsections assigned by the technical lead writer and proposal manager
  • Ensure all contributions from team members and outside consultants are effectively integrated into the overall proposal to provide a strong technical and sales foundation for Creative's selection as implementor
  • Travel as needed to establish relationships with the client, potential partners, and local staff and gather operational information and country context
  • Work with technical staff across the company to identify and write up examples of Creative's thought leadership for inclusion in proposals and other corporate documents
  • Identify, curate, and organize on SharePoint high-quality proposal sections and selected technical topics as models of excellence in proposal writing, organization, content, and salesmanship
  • Periodically review and maintain Creative's Writing and Style Guide
  • Provide training to Creative staff to improve proposal writing; contribute to training module development
  • Serve as proposal reviewer, as required
  • Support other writing tasks (including expressions of interest, capture research, and others), as required
  • Attend and participate in GO business development and capture meetings; participate in learning fora
    Qualifications

    Required Skills & Qualifications:

    • M.A., or equivalent experience in international relations, development, journalism, or related field
    • Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, including 4 years of proposal or business development experience for USAID and other USG agencies
    • Demonstrated success in writing USAID proposals
    • Excellent writing and editing skills; solid presentation skills
    • Commitment to mission- and values-driven work environment

    Desired Skills & Qualifications:

    • Second language is desirable.
    • International work experience is highly desirable.
