Community Engagement and Social Specialist

GOPA Infra is searching for a Community Engagement and Social Specialist for an AfDB-financed project Procurement of: Project Management Consultancy Services (IRSUE-Luxor)

Task description

The tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Monitor the implementation of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for Kernan &Al Dabiba clusters as per the requirements of the EEAA including the public consultation considering the requirements of the Program and provide the client with the EEAA's approval.
• Provide the community and labors HSE and community engagement guidelines and assure its implementation.
• Ensure site specific ESMP measures reflected in all the Program documents and assure implementation of these measures during construction and operation.
• Ensure that labors, community insurance and all the social aspects are reflected in the tender documents and assure its implementation.
• Provide the action plan of the citizen engagement activities.
• On-job-training to L WWC in carrying out inclusive and gender sensitive community consultations and in various community engagement aspects.
• Follow up LWWC in the social's Key Performance Indicator (KPls); and
• any other relevant work that supports the achievements of the Program targets.

Qualifications

• Local, have at least a degree in sociology, anthropology, or equivalent humanities or social sciences discipline.
• At least 15 years' experience in social assessments, community engagement, grievance redress mechanisms, and/or related areas.
• S/he should also have experience in social impact assessment, research/evaluation experience on social issues and land acquisition.
• Fluent in both Arabic and English and familiar with the sector in Egypt, the local culture and have profound communication skills.
