Under the direct supervision of the Communications Analyst, the Knowledge Management Officer - Coordination is responsible for fostering a strong knowledge sharing culture within the LIFT. They coordinate the creation, dissemination and management of all learning products, both externally and internally.

1. Coordination of learning and knowledge management across LIFT

  • Establish and lead a learning task group to foster a strong knowledge sharing culture at LIFT.

  • Working closely with programme and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) teams, coordinate the ways to organize LIFT’s knowledge sharing as well as coordinate the planning and execution of learning and knowledge processes and events (studies, evaluations, surveys, Community of Practice, evaluation briefings, etc.) across LIFT.

  • Establish LIFT’s learning and knowledge sharing system including a curated database/pipeline/tracker of planned and ongoing learning and knowledge processes and products (evaluations, updates, reports, and other relevant information) to develop a plannable schedule of activities and products, and coordinate with respective teams the potential outcomes/use of each process and/or product.

  • Lead the development of learning and knowledge sharing policies and/or standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure minimum standards and implementation across projects and programmes.

  • Identify opportunities for sharing learning products externally or internally and outreach activities and coordinate them within the communications work plan.

  • Establish and manage a learning and knowledge sharing events calendar in close coordination with LIFT’s communications, programme, and monitoring & evaluation teams.

  • Proactively suggest themes and opportunities for peer learning sessions for LIFT teams and LIFT’s partners.


2. Learning and knowledge product creation

  • Manage the creation of knowledge products that showcase results and impact, to effectively profile LIFT with donors, partners, civil society organizations and other stakeholders. This includes case studies, stories, reports, briefing notes, etc.

  • Identify most appropriate formats for knowledge products as per target audience, scope and outreach.

  • Develop knowledge management systems or platforms to store information such as documents, reports, articles, visuals or audio recordings for easy retrieval.

  • Create knowledge maps or diagrams that visually depict how different pieces of information are related to one another.


3. Learning and Knowledge product dissemination

  • Identify and implement creative, efficient and effective ways to engage LIFT’s audiences and stakeholders including through organizing events such as field trips, missions, seminars, workshops, forums, guest lectures and seize conference participation opportunities in different thematic areas.

  • Support the outreach activities aimed specifically at engaging LIFT’s stakeholders including briefings, field visits, capacity strengthening sessions.

  • Find creative ways to publish and disseminate research results, recognizing that it is critical to ensure this data is accessible and reaching a broad stakeholder base.

  • Promote a culture for learning and knowledge sharing across LIFT by supporting a learning culture where teams and individuals can openly share successes and failures for continuous improvement at LIFT and encouraging colleagues to share knowledge effectively and efficiently and answer queries about LIFT’s knowledge management products and practices.

  • Support LIFT and its implementing partners to plan and manage the successful execution of learning and knowledge management activities, including events such as regular seminars/webinars, workshops, conferences, and peer learning sessions.


4. Other tasks and responsibilities

  • Support LIFT’s Communications team in planning and executing communications campaigns across various channels as required for reaching strategic communications goals.

  • Perform other duties as requested.


Education

  • A first-level university degree (e.g. Bachelor) in communication, international relations, international development, international affairs, political science, information technology, knowledge management, organizational learning, English or other relevant discipline is required. An advanced university degree (e.g. Masters) is considered an asset and may substitute for years of relevant experience required.

Experience 

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in communications, knowledge management, event management, advocacy, digital media, public/media relations, marketing, international relations, stakeholder management, writing/editing or any other related field is required.

  • Experience working in public relations or event management is an asset.

  • Experience working in conflict-affected areas and with relevant stakeholders is a distinct asset.

  • Experience in developing communications strategy and plans as well as experience in events management is highly preferable. 

  • Previous experience in a similar position with media organizations, UN, NGO, civil society organizations or private sector is an asset.

  • Excellent writing and analytical skills in English and Myanmar language, with an understanding of drafting communications content for different audiences, is required. 

  • Ability to consistently exercise discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information is essential.

Languages

  • Fluency in English and Myanmar language (both oral and written) is required.
