Quality Control / Material Engineer

Work scope:

The Quality Control/Material Engineer should be capable of supervising the setting up,organization and layout of the various field laboratories; monitoring the mobilization of the testing equipment to ensure that the laboratories are adequately equipped and capable of performing all the specified testing requirements of the Contracts. The job description of the Quality Control /Material Engineer will include, however not necessarily limited to, the following:

  • Preparation of Quality Control Plan and Review Contractor's Quality Assurance Plan.
  • Update, implement, maintain and monitor internal QA/QC process.
  • Conduct and review materials engineering analysis;
  • Inspection of source of material.
  • Directly responsible for all quality control works.
  • Supervise technical staff to ensure compliance with quality programs.
  • Coordinate and carry out field and laboratory reviews of construction works.
  • Ensure inspection and checking of all delivered materials to site for conformance to the specifications.
  • Supervise, participate and direct sampling and testing of all materials according to thecontract and the specifications.
  • Analyze the test results in a timely manner and recommend action to the Chief Resident Engineer /Team Leader.
  • Overseeing operational quality control processes.
  • Assist the Chief Resident Engineer in checking and monitoring of works.
  • Maintain records of test results and all taken corrective actions.
  • Follow up and verify implementation of corrective actions.
  • Prepare monthly reports.
  • Training and technology transfer to counterpart and Nepali Army staff.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
