Contract Specialist

Qualification
Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management / Contract Management / Dispute and Arbitration Management or other related subjects.

Experience:
Professional Experience

12 years of professional experience.
Experience in related field

5 years* work experience as Contract Specialist in ICB contracts of construction supervision of Highways.

Experience as Contract Specialist or similar capacity in preparation of bidding documents of two FIDIC ICB contract of major highway/bridge/tunnel projects.

Must be fluent in English
MM remaining
More than 12 months.

Work scope:

The Contract Specialist should possess knowledge and skills in contractor’s claims management, resolution of disputes, arbitration proceedings involving FIDIC general conditions, and application of price adjustment provisions. The job description of the Contract Specialist will include, however not necessarily limited to, the following:

  • Assist Team Leader in all aspects of contract management in proper implementation of contract provisions including controlling the project cost.
  • Assist in interpretation of the Contract/Agreement Clauses and their implementation especially in instances of disputes.
  • Responsible for giving appropriate suggestions in handling claims of the Contractors and any dispute arising.
  • Interpretation of the Contract Documents.
  • Prepare manuals/ schedules for the consultant team based on the provisions of the Contract document.
  • Review and ensure conformity of contractor’s securities in approved formats.
  • Ensure requisite insurances furnished by the Contractor being Contract compliant.
  • Assist in finalization of bidding documents.
  • Assist in evaluating bids for civil works contract.
  • Track and record compensation events.
  • Assessment and preparation of Variation documents.
  • Assessment and preparation of Extension of Time documents.
  • Assist in preparation of Employer's claim.
  • Assist with contract termination procedures.
  • Perform post-award functions to include modifying contracts, monitoring contract performance, and closing out contracts etc.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
