Description

Disaster Risk Resilience Consulting Services to strengthen FSM Utilities

The objective of this support is to help implement systems and procedures in the FSM that reduce the need for periodic large-scale replacements and refurbishment of the electrical network whenever a natural hazard such as typhoons, heavy rains, strong winds strike FSM utilities as well as prepare for climate change impacts including sea level rise. This support serves as the basis for a larger scale disaster risk management program.

Requirements:

Advanced degree in engineering, climate-related or geo-physical sciences with at least five years of conducting sector-specific (energy sector) risk assessments. Experience in working with utilities in the Pacific or other similarly placed countries and with donor agencies is preferred.

Time period estimated – 5 person months
