Enhancing the media and communication ecosystem and institutional environment in Jordan

Specific Objective: To improve and enhance government/public communication and restore and uphold the public’s trust in the Government of Jordan by ensuring transparency, accountability and inclusion, and encouraging participation of stakeholders.

KE1 Team Leader:

Expert category: Cat. I (>12 years of experience)

Qualifications and skills required:

·         Education at least Master's Degree or, in its absence, 2 years equivalent professional experience in addition to the required general professional experience, in the areas of public policy, public administration, strategic studies, politics, media and communication or an equivalent degree.

General professional experience:

• A minimum of 12 years of professional experience in government communication, media policies, public policies, public administration, institutional development, implementation of reforms and strategic public sector development.

• Proven experience in institutional development, institutional partnerships, policy research, reform and strategies, and coordination of networks.

Specific professional experience:

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in public institutions providing technical support and advice in the field of media and communication policy development and/or government communication.

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in developing, managing and implementing communication strategies, preferably in the public sector.

• A good knowledge of media and government communication policies, and understanding of the appropriate institutional infrastructure, regulations and standards for government communication. • Knowledge of media ecosystem in Jordan is an asset.

Language skills:

• Native/C2 level Arabic language with excellent speaking, reading and writing skills. The Arabic language will be the working language and all documents and deliverables must be produced in the Arabic language. A good command of the English (C1) language is required.
