National Expert - Evaluation Minigrid Programme

North South Consultant Exchange is looking for National Experts from a Mid-term Review Evaluation of an African Minigrid Programme. The national expert(s) must be resident from one the following country: Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Eswatini, Djibouti and Malawi.

The candidates must abide by the following requirements: 

Education

•        A Master’s degree or higher in a discipline relevant to renewable energy, environmental engineering, environmental science, development planning, project management, or a closely related field.
•        Additional relevant certifications and training an added advantage.

Experience

•        Minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of development projects in the energy sector in result-based management framework required in the country of assignment for this national expert.
•        Experience in conducting consultations with energy authorities, NGO’s and other relevant actors in the energy sector in the country of assignment for this national expert desirable.
•        Experience in supporting evaluation of GEF-funded and/or projects implemented by the United Nations an added advantage.
•        Experience in renewable energy projects (in particular related to off-grid electrification) preferred.

Language

•        Fluency in written and spoken English required for experts covering non French-speaking countries, as per Table 3. Fluency in written and spoken French required for experts covering French-speaking countries, as per Table 1 and 2 in the TORs.
•       Working level in written and spoken English desirable for experts covering French-speaking countries.
