Civil Engineer - Resident Ponte Brigoma

Sheladia Associates is seeking a professional Civil Engineer - Resident Ponte Brigoma to join our team for upcoming São Tomé and Príncipe Transport and Coastal Protection Development Project, funded by the World Bank.

The Government of São Tomé and Príncipe, with the help of the World Bank, prepared an Emergency Action Plan to trigger the Contingency Emergency Response Component under the Transport and Protection Sector Development Project Coastal project underway, funded by the International Development Association, to cover the rehabilitation costs of the two bridges, namely: Bridge over the Lembá River [Ponte Lembá] and Bridge over the river Brigoma [Brigoma Bridge]. The reconstruction of the two bridges basically consists of removing the existing structures of the collapsed bridges, building new bridges and rehabilitating the access roads to them.

Required Qualifications:

• University degree in the field of civil construction, or higher, with 15 years of relevant knowledge and experience in designing reinforced concrete bridges and roads and supervising works on road projects and bridges.

 • Familiarity with local and international design guidelines

• 15 years of relevant knowledge and experience in quantitative surveying, supervision and construction of large bridge and highway projects.

• Experience working on similar internationally funded projects and proficiency in written and spoken Portuguese and English.
