Description

About CIVICUS

CIVICUS exists to defend people's power. As a growing global alliance of over 15,000 members in 188 countries, we work together to monitor violations of basic civic freedoms, call out the perpetrators of violations, and strengthen people's power to organise by supporting a more accountable, effective, and innovative civil society. We strive to promote excluded voices, especially from the Global South.

About the Role

CIVICUS aims to co-create narratives engaging a network of “Communicators for Civic Action,” to promote optimism, demand and active support for citizen action and civic freedoms. This network brings together communicators, storytellers, journalists and citizen journalists among CIVICUS membership and civil society allies.

The Communications Officer – Narratives and Networks will play a critical role in coordinating and amplifying the grassroots narratives to the global level and making accessible and relevant the knowledge and analysis of organizations like CIVICUS.

The Communications Officer – Narratives and Networks will strengthen existing links among CIVICUS membership, like-minded activists, civil society, international agencies, and media.  They will facilitate building knowledge and capacity for innovative, impactful, accessible, and pragmatic narratives and campaigns.
