Background

MAGENTA is working in partnership with UNICEF Myanmar to review and adapt a comprehensive curriculum and training package on social and behaviour change communication (SBCC) for mid-level and senior managers; and interpersonal communication (IPC) and social mobilization packages for frontline workers and community volunteers. The adapted curriculums and training packages have been pre-tested in with stakeholders and are being finalised. As such we are looking for a cohort of local trainers to support the training and dissemination of these packages. For this role, trainers will be expected to speak both Burmese and English and will be responsible for learning the training material and training groups of individuals on the material. They will regularly liaise with UNICEF and relevant stakeholders as needed, including other implementing partners.

Specific tasks will include:
  • Participating in weekly and bi-weekly meetings with UNICEF as needed. 
  • Reviewing the SBC and IPC Packages in English and Burmese. 
  • Learning the material presented in the SBC and IPC Packages.
  • Training groups of individuals on the SBC and IPC Package contents, including the development and catering of all training material as needed, depending on the type of participants. 

Experience and Requirements

  • Fluent in Burmese and English.
  • Knowledge and understanding of SBC and/or IPC. 
  • Experience in conducting in-person and online Training of Trainers workshops, in Burmese and English.
  • Experience in conducting in-person and online trainings on SBC and/or IPC, in Burmese and English. 
  • Familiarity with the cultural context and challenges in Myanmar, including the various states and regions. 
  • Experience in adapting and localising training materials to suit different cultural contexts and audience needs.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluating training outcomes.
  • Experience working with UN agencies and NGO’s.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as trainers will need to engage effectively with a diverse group of participants and stakeholders.
  • Adaptable and able to troubleshoot and solve problems that may arise during training.
  • Proficiency with online training platforms and tools.

Working Conditions

  • Based in Myanmar, with travel in country as required.
