Eurecna looking for a Team Leader for EU Lot 12 “Technical Assistance for the Coordination and Monitoring of EU Funded Education and Youth Empowerment in North-Western Nigeria – EYEPINN and ‘‘Education and Youth Empowerment in Nigeria (2nd phase): Expand, Integrate and Strengthen Systems (EISS) to build teachers’ capacity and resilience’’ in Nigeria. The Team Leader will assume overall responsibility for the coordination, planning, budgeting, management, monitoring and reporting of project activities. The Team Leader will ensure prudent and effective management of the assets as well as the human and financial resources of the project; ensure complete project documentation, budgeting, management, monitoring and reporting of project activities at all times; guide the preparation and submission of annual work plans and timely progress reports as required.
The Team Leader will also be required to provide leadership and high quality advice on critical policy and technical issues. He/She will assume overall responsibility of the team and coordinate operational issues with team leaders of the other components of the programme, senior governmental, non-governmental and donor officials and other stakeholders. The team leader will report to the programme manager of the contracting authority and and the responsible officer in the Ministry of Education.
Qualifications and skills required:
University degree (Masters or PhD) in education, international development/management, or social sciences from an institution accredited by a national/international relevant body
General professional experience:
A minimum of 12 years of experience in coordinating and managing education and youth development programmes including teacher education.
Specific professional experience:
The Team leader will be the Head of the team. He/She will need possess leadership skill and and exhibit the ability to coordinate the other key and potential non-key experts. He/She should also possess the following skills:
1. understanding of national and regional education policies, including experience in formulating and implementing educational strategies for educational development.
2. proven experience in leading and coordinating projects' involving multiple stakeholders, including strong organizational and coordination skills.
3. experience in designing and delivering capacity building programmes for project stakeholders including skills in knowledge transfer and skill development
4. expertise in developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks, including the ability to access project progress, identify challenges and propose effective solutions.
5. Mastery of education principles, concepts, practices, methods, and advanced techniques for the design, implementation, and evaluation of development assistance programs
Full time position for 38 months (680 working days).
