Guyana Timber Legality Assurance Systems Expert

For our Operational support to the FLEGT VPA Secretariat project in Guyana we are currently looking for a Timber Legality Assurance Systems expert that will be responsible for the implementation of the Guyana Timber Legality Assurance Systems (GTLAS) Manual of Procedures compliance with the Legality Definition.  He/she will liase with the GTLAS agencies to address gaps and challegues, organise meetings and events, coordination with internal and external stakeholders, conduct assessments to determine compliance of the FSO (Forest Sector Operator) level. Update the GTLAS Memorandum of Understanding, work with the FLEGT Secretariat to support  the improvement of the FSO and work closely with the IT specialist and other representatives to foster the cohesion of information sharing. 

The candidate should have experience in timber legality assurance. The expert will be based in Georgetown, Guyana.
