BACKGROUND
OCHA is the part of the United Nations Secretariat responsible for bringing together humanitarian actors to ensure a coherent response to emergencies.

Under the overall supervision of the Deputy Head of Office – Field Coordination and the immediate supervision of the Head of Sub-Office / Humanitarian Affairs Officer (HAO), the incumbent will support the office in identifying significant humanitarian issues and problems in the assigned region/state (the Two Areas and other assigned areas as needed). The office location will be in Kauda, or as determined by changing situations.
They will develop well-reasoned, innovative suggestions and approaches to problem resolution, assist the HAO in managing projects and work teams to ensure timely delivery of outputs, and help meet organizational objectives by providing sound inputs and advice regarding the coordination of humanitarian/emergency action.
The incumbent will provide effective guidance on cultural and political issues intrinsic to the assigned state/region, deliver assigned outputs in a timely manner, develop partnerships, and interact effectively with colleagues internally and externally.
Key Duties and Accountabilities
The incumbent will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation of project activities in the region. The position is locally administered by UNDP Sudan.
Under the immediate supervision of the Head of Sub-Office / HAO, and the overall direction of the Deputy Head of Office, the incumbent is expected to perform the following tasks:

Skill in conceptualizing, designing, and implementing major information campaigns. Ability to rapidly analyze and integrate diverse information from varied sources. Proficiency in producing clear, concise written communications and delivering oral presentations to diverse audiences.
