EUROPEAN PROFILES S.A. (GR) is looking for experts for the implementation of the following Framework Contract: Comprehensive gender analysis with focus on WEE, Energy, and Education in Nepal

Overall Objective

The overall objective is to produce a comprehensive gender analysis followed by thematic analyses on WEE and specific sectors of interest to the EU (energy, education, urban), as well as recommend actionable conclusions to inform the EUD's Gender Equality Programme and gender mainstreaming in other EU interventions in Nepal.

Specific objective(s)

• Conduct an overarching gender analysis of Nepal's socio-economic and political environment.
• Analyse WEE opportunities and challenges within Nepal's economic corridors and addressing other economic sectors.
• Carry out a detailed gender analysis in the energy sector, focusing on access, participation, and empowerment.
• Carry out a detailed gender analysis in the education sector, including informal education and skills, and focusing on the functioning of the Girls and Inclusive Education Network (GIEN).
• Carry out a detailed gender analysis in the urban sector, including a mapping of the actors that are important in the urban economy applying a value chain approach where relevant.
• Integrate the role of youth and digitisation across all analyses as a critical factor shaping of gender dynamics, considering structural barriers and potential pathways for transformation.
• Produce a brief analysis of the EUD Nepal's contribution to the CLIP on Gender Action Plan and lessons learned to replicate or build on in the Action Document.
• Provide technical support to the EU Delegation in drafting a comprehensive Action Document for the Gender Equality Programme, informed by the analyses.

Description

The overall objective is to produce a comprehensive gender analysis followed by thematic analyses on WEE and specific sectors of interest to the EU (energy, education, urban), as well as recommend actionable conclusions to inform the EUD's Gender Equality Programme and gender mainstreaming in other EU interventions in Nepal.

Qualifications required

• Degree in ICT, Sociology, or Development Studies.
• 8+ years in digital inclusion and youth empowerment.
• Experience in South Asia or similar contexts.

Professional experience required

• Integrate digitisation and youth themes across all analyses.
• Assess digital access, skills, and gendered impacts.
• Support strategic recommendations for digital inclusion.
• Digital literacy and access gaps.
• Gendered impacts of digital transformation.
• Youth employment and education trends.
