Scope Impact is seeking a Mental Health Specialist for technical content development for a digital self-care platform

Position Description:

Scope Impact is a global social innovation company dedicated to protecting health in a changing climate. We are developing a mobile self-care platform that enables individuals to take control of their health and well-being. 

We are looking for a Mental Health Specialist with strong clinical expertise and a public health perspective. This role involves developing evidence-based content for a digital self-care platform. The focus is on creating inclusive, practical, and culturally sensitive mental health awareness and self-care guidance for various populations. This includes those affected by climate-triggered events, such as extreme heat, as well as vulnerable groups in both conflict and non-conflict settings.

The goal of this content development is to enhance mental health literacy, resilience, and access to self-care strategies for underserved global populations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and curate technical content and self-care protocols in line with the WHO’s framework for self-care interventions and mental health.
• Create content for both conflict and non-conflict contexts, ensuring guidance is relevant, actionable, adaptable, and inclusive.
• Address the mental health needs of individuals affected by various climate-related risks, including extreme heat, air pollution, floods, and droughts. This also includes making necessary adjustments for the unique needs of refugees, people with disabilities, and pregnant women, while remaining sensitive to cultural, linguistic, and contextual factors.
• Integrate global best practices in mental health, including prevention and self-care strategies for stress, anxiety, depression, trauma and other mental health conditions.
• Collaborate with our public health experts, researchers, and community stakeholders to co-create engaging, evidence-based, and user-friendly digital modules that promote health and well-being.
• Collaborate with the visual design team to translate technical knowledge into accessible and engaging digital materials that maintain clinical validity.
• Stay updated on research, digital health trends, and global mental health initiatives to ensure content adheres to cutting-edge, ethical, and privacy-respecting practices.
• Champion stigma reduction, disability inclusion, and enhanced mental health literacy in all developed content.
• Perform any other relevant tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in Clinical Psychology, Psychiatry, or a related mental health discipline.
• 5-7 years of experience working in mental health.
• Proven expertise in developing digital mental health content with a strong public health orientation and sensitivity to multicultural contexts.
• Preferred experience working with emerging adults, refugees, persons with disabilities, and pregnant women.
• Familiarity with digital health technologies and content development tools is highly desirable.
• Experience in literature/policy/technical guideline review.
• Knowledge of country-specific mental health guidelines and digital privacy regulations is an asset.
• Demonstrated strong cultural competence and communication skills.
• Proactive and self-driven.
• Team player with the ability and experience to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams in different time zones.
• Fluent in English, other languages is a plus
