Project objectives
Promotion of green territorial development and urban-rural linkages, whereby human settlements - aimag and soum centres become anchors of green agribusiness that promote sustainable, resilient, and high -carbon sequestration rangeland management. The project involves:
1. Development of a Market-Driven, Integrated, Cost-Efficient, and Climate-Resilient Livestock Supply Chain Organization
2. Competitive, Low-Carbon, and Export-Oriented Value-Added Production, Agribusiness, and SME Development
3. Sustainable and Climate-Resilient Rangeland and Animal Welfare Management.
4. Strengthening Animal Health and Breeding Services for Enhanced Productivity
5. Improving Irrigation Systems and Infrastructure to Enhance Livestock Forage Production.
The project is envisaged to start in April 2026 with expected duration ca. 4 years. The project is funded through a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB)
Qualifications:
- M.Sc. in business administration, Agriculture or related studies
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, including in managing or providing advisory services for cooperatives development, conducting organizational development assessments and defining/implementing development plans, defining and/or managing capacity development initiatives and developing cooperative business plans
- Demonstrated work experience in smallholder cooperative group formation, education, and training
- Experience in agricultural cooperatives development
Tasks:
- Develop and implement a strategy to strengthen agricultural cooperatives
- Support the creation and operation of sustainable agricultural cooperatives
- Provide templates and guidance for establishing clear management systems
- Integrate sustainability into cooperative operations to enhance climate resilience and attract investment
- Offer training and support to develop skilled and professional human resources for cooperative management
- Facilitate access to markets and financial resources for agricultural cooperatives
- Promote collaboration among cooperatives to share best practices and resources
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards for cooperative operations
- Encourage innovation in cooperative practices to improve productivity and profitability
- Support the development of cooperative business plans, market links, and legal frame of the cooperatives
