In the Middle East Region, Malteser International (MI) is operating in the context of the humanitarian crisis in Syria since 2012 implementing emergency relief measures in Türkiye, Syria, and Lebanon and since 2014 in Iraq. MI’s programs cover needs mainly in the health sector and are mostly partner implemented. In the Holy Land, MI is currently planning to set up the cooperation with its potential local partner to implement projects in the framework of humanitarian assistance.

For its envisioned work in Gaza, Malteser International is looking for a qualified MEAL Assistant to support effective monitoring, accountability, learning, and reporting, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based program implementation.

As a MEAL Assistant, you will support the implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) activities for our program in Gaza. You will contribute to accurate data collection, beneficiary accountability, and learning processes, ensuring transparency and continuous improvement of program interventions.

Your responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular field monitoring visits to program activities
  • Collect quantitative and qualitative data using approved tools (e.g. Kobo, checklists)
  • Support implementation of the Complaints and Feedback Mechanism (CFM)
  • Record, document, and refer beneficiary feedback and complaints confidentially
  • Enter, clean, and organize MEAL data in relevant databases.
  • Support basic data analysis and preparation of MEAL summaries and reports
  • Assist in assessments, surveys, evaluations, and documentation of lessons learned

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in MEAL or data management with INGOs
  • Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Fluency in English with excellent written communication skills in Arabic
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using Power BI, Kobo or similar data collection tools

  • Duty Station: Gaza Strip, including Gaza City, Deir al-Balah and other locations
  • Duration of contract: 3 months until 31.03.2026 (with possibility of extension upon further project funding) 
  • Salary: Based on experience and qualifications, in accordance with MI’s salary scale
