Field Manager Announcement (Philippines)
STOOS Consulting is an international research and evaluation firm registered in Kenya, Syria, Iraq, Turkey, Ukraine, Libya, Nigeria, Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda, Honduras, Haiti, Nicaragua, Colombia, Brazil, the Philippines, and other countries. We provide high-quality consulting services across livelihoods, health, education, protection, climate resilience, governance, and humanitarian response, applying rigorous, participatory, and ethically grounded methodologies. STOOS supports NGOs, UN agencies, and donors across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America, including complex, disaster-prone, and conflict-affected settings such as the Philippines.

We are currently seeking a Field Manager to support an upcoming assignment in the Philippines, overseeing field operations and ensuring the successful execution of data collection activities across diverse geographic and socio-cultural contexts.

Position: Field Manager (Philippines-based)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of fieldwork activities across selected regions in the Philippines, ensuring compliance with national regulations, ethical standards, and local protocols.
  • Supervise and support enumerator and field teams, ensuring high-quality, ethical, and timely data collection across urban, rural, coastal, and disaster-affected communities.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement and participant mobilization with local government units (LGUs), community leaders, NGOs, and partner organizations.
  • Conduct field monitoring, quality checks, and problem-solving, adapting to logistical, access, or security challenges, including those related to natural hazards or remote locations.
  • Report regularly to the STOOS central coordination team, providing contextual insights to strengthen data analysis and reporting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Health, Disaster Risk Reduction, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing fieldwork for research, surveys, or M&E assignments, preferably in the Philippines or Southeast Asia.
  • Proven experience supervising field enumerators and implementing ethical, inclusive research practices.
  • Fluency in English is required; Filipino/Tagalog and knowledge of other local languages are strong assets.
  • Experience with digital data collection platforms (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK, SurveyCTO).
  • Ability to manage teams under tight timelines and adapt to dynamic field conditions, including disaster and emergency contexts.
