Assignment Title: “Women’s Empowerment through a Sustainable Entrepreneurship”

 SECTOR/ Key Words: Women’s empowerment, micro-entrepreneurs, maternal and child health awareness, craftmanship, economic empowerment, product marketing, capacity building.

  

Project Overview

 

1) General objective

The overall objective of this assignment is to increase the economic participation and leadership of women in sustainable businesses through provision of reproductive health and childcare awareness, managerial and technical skills, and enhance access to productive assets to start or expand sustainable businesses. The contract is expected to be implemented in Egypt, with activities concentrated in Siwa (Matrouh Governorate).

 

2) Specific objectives

 Output 1: - Improve awareness (engaging men, families, and local actors) and basic knowledge and access to services in the field of reproductive health and maternal and child health.

- Support women’s participation in project activities through the provision of childcare services.

 Output 2: - Provide aspiring entrepreneurs and existing micro-entrepreneurs in the field of the local craftsmanship with essential managerial and technical skills.

- Improve access to productive assets and resources for beneficiaries interested in starting or expanding sustainable economic activities, including through the establishment of a dedicated microcredit line.

 Output 3: - Support the growth and sustainability of entrepreneurial activities.

- Improve Market Access for entrepreneurs and the commercialization of products beyond the local context.

- Civil society organizations (CSOs) will benefit from capacity-building interventions designed to strengthen their skills in managing initiatives and projects focused on the socio-economic empowerment of women, and potential establishment of a women association.

  

Assigned Tasks

·        Propose a list of targeted maternal and child health activities aimed at improving women’s access to quality health services, promoting positive health-seeking behaviors.

·        Organize and conduct awareness sessions on reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health.

·        Support to antenatal and postnatal care.

·        Targeted awareness-raising activities for tribal and community leaders, as well as male family members of beneficiary households.

·        Verify compliance of activities with national guidelines on the topic.

 

Expert Minimum Requirements 

·        At-least a Degree in Public Health, Nursing, or related fields.

·        Reproductive Health and Childcare.

·        Experience in awareness raising and public speaking.

·        Strong analytical and stakeholder engagement skills.

·        Experience in Egypt.

·        Egyptian National residing in Egypt.

 

Key Skills and Experience:

·        Experience working with international organizations.

·        Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·        Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

·        Proficiency in English and Arabic written and verbal skills.

·        Efficient partner- and client-oriented working methods.
