Description

Narrative description of Project:

PRRO 200365 envisages addressing the humanitarian crises that could arise from the influxes of refugees. The PRRO is intended to: (a) enable refugees to meet minimum levels of food security; (b) treat and reduce acute malnutrition; (c) stabilize school enrolment of refugee girls and boys in WFP-assisted schools; and (d) increase livelihood opportunities in fragile transitional situations for refugees and host communities.

Data collections for 14 refugee camps have been successfully undertaken and the verification, encoding and cleaning and entry was also completed. The draft report was submitted and comments were collected. The final report was then prepared and the whole assignment   finalized before the end of November 2012.

BDS-CDR collected baseline data and prepared report on the following issues

  • Increase in the household food consumption score of targeted refugee households,
  • A reduction in the coping strategy index of targeted refugee households and
  • Increase in the community asset score for target refugee and host communities (the community asset score was measured only in 3 Jijiga camps in Somali region).
