Title: Technical Assistance for Capacity Development for the Climate Resilient Forest Livelihoods Thematic Programme, Ethiopia

Short description: The objective of the assignment is to enable the Government entities and staff involved in the implementation of Climate Resilient Forest Livelihoods (CRFL) to ensure that the analytical foundation and data collection is sound and informs implementation, that the livelihoods options promoted are appropriate and sustainable and adapted to their specific locations, that the programme is inclusive, and that programme implementation is timely.
It is further an objective to, throughout the programme, assist and capacity build the implementing entities to become able to implement and report on similar programmes in the future.

The overall purpose of the technical assistance is to enhance the capacity of relevant government staff in the Kafa Zone,
SNNPR, and at federal level on:
— Analysis, selection and promotion of environmentally, socially and economically sustainable and appropriate forest and non-forest livelihoods options for the local context,
— Promotion of appropriate and effective participatory forest management approaches and modalities,
— Outcome and impact analysis, monitoring and reporting – which is socially sensitive and inclusive and captures changes related to greenhouse gas emissions, forest protection, and livelihoods improvements,
— Risk monitoring, management and mitigation,
— Overall technical assistance in programme management, monitoring and reporting.
