Description

Description:

The “Post-earthquake Housing Reconstruction in Kraljevo” Project is designed to provide compensatory permanent housing solutions to families whose dwellings were damaged by earthquake in November 2010. The earthquake caused the loss of two lives and dozens of injured. Earthquake worsened generally difficult housing situation in the city, which represents one of the major problems of Kraljevo. The Municipal Housing Strategy, developed in 2007, has registered a shortage of 2,398 housing units and 35,173 rooms, with 23,930 people living in overcrowded housing units. Additionally, the existing housing stock is mainly aged, poorly maintained and decaying, and around 30% of all urban land is occupied by informal settlements. Lack of urban construction land and low construction densities are among the major developmental problems of the City. Therefore, the City authorities expect to use this Project as a benchmark for future redevelopments and densifications to be undertaken in other parts of Kraljevo, in line with the general strategy to increase urban densities as a means towards the creation of a more socially, economically and environmentally sustainable city.
CEB, engaged with Aspiro a.s. – Bureau Veritas consortium under the Technical Assistance Project aiming to cover the construction of the Building 1, to provide Technical Assistance to beneficiary institutions - the Ministry of Construction Transport and Infrastructure (MCTI)  and Project Management Unit (PMU) - in project coordination, contract management and supervision of construction – in order to successfully complete the construction of Building 1.
