Description
A component of the ESSSUAP consists of a Primary Scholarship Pilot program, which involves allocating scholarships to students in 207 primary schools in three remote provinces. The implementing agency for the project - the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) - and the World Bank intend to measure the impact of the scholarship program to determine if scholarship students are more likely to complete primary school than they would have been had they not received a scholarship. To measure this impact, it is necessary to carefully measure and verify the enrollment and attendance of all successful and unsuccessful applicants to the Primary Scholarship Pilot program. The main task of the consultancy will involve visiting each of the 207 primary schools three times to carry out a roll-call of the children who filled out the application forms, and to collect other data such as the enrollment status of the students and background information on the schools. In addition, the consultant will be responsible for administering a test to all students attending school, using an exam prepared separately by the MoEYS in consultation with the World Bank, during the third and final school visit. The data collected during these visits will be entered into a database for analysis. The database will be developed by the consultant.
