Short term mission to share experience how to strengthen all essential components in an integrated seed industry in Africa

To visit and share Svalof´s experience with key organizations and institutions within the existing seed industry and make recommendations to those responsible in the Ministry of Agriculture in Monrovia on how to strengthen the seed industry in Liberia with particular regard to:

• The seed policy, seed legislation and regulations that govern the Liberian seed industry
• Harmonization of the Liberian seed industry to facilitate domestic and international seed trade
• Organisation of plant breeding, variety development, maintenance breeding and pre-basic seed production
• System of variety testing, registration and protection
• Organisation and services of Seed Quality Control and Certification
• Technical and managerial support to seed companies and seed association
• Assistance to Plant Quarantine
• Human Resource Development of professionals in the Seed Industry
• Information and dissemination activities
• Assistance to the National Plant Genetic Resources Programme
