Thanks to the Balkan Trust Fund for Democracy, Belgrade Center for human rights will during 2012 and 2013 year continue with implementing project Promoting responsible and professional reporting on the following topics: discrimination, violence in society, the right to education and transparency of government decision-making
The Belgrade Centre has received grant in 2010 year for the project Promoting accountable and professional reporting on issues of organized crime, war crimes, discrimination and domestic violence.This will be the extension of the above mentioned project, because this project was successfully resulted in many opportunities for participants: to volunteer and practically work in magazines and news agencies.
Belgrade Center believes that the implementation of this project will contribute to:
• Strengthen the professional capacity of young journalists to monitor and report on issue that will contribute to the promotion of human rights and development of the rule of law
• Improving and strengthening the role of the media and raising public awareness about this issues
• Raised awareness of our citizens on the importance of adequately responding state authorities when it comes to the protection of victims, promote a tolerant and democratic society and promoting a culture of human rights
The project will be divided into four phases, each of them will be devoted to one of the selected topics: discrimination, violence in society, transparency of government decision-making and the right to education.
The first training organised as part of the Project Promoting responsible and professional reporting on the selected issues of discrimination, violence in society, the right to education and transparency of government decision-making was devoted to the subject of discrimination.
