Description

SIPU International was contracted by Sida in 2002 to form a team for monitoring and giving advice regarding the Sida-funded projects in the legal sector in Vietnam. These projects have been legal information, legal education, legal aid and law making and implementation. Implementing agencies for two of the projects have been Lund University and Umeå University. It is also an assignment for the team to follow in general the development of legal reform in Vietnam.

The monitoring assignment resulted in the termination of the Sida support to legal information, since it meant a duplication of efforts. Monitoring of legal education and legal aid also resulted in improvement of the follow up of the project activities.
