The goal of the Adu-Edu project is to develop and coordinate in-between participating countries Framework of Qualifications (FQ) of the Adult Educator (AE) in Knowledge Society and implement it in four areas: 1) in FQ development and assessment of professional competency of AE; 2) in development of programmes & courses for training of AE; 3) in setting criteria and designing means for evaluation of AE training practice and 4) in linking adult education policy and strategy to the requirements of Knowledge Society and the idea of Life Long Learning.
Inventory of results from previous initiatives, surveys, analyses and predictions, theoretical modelling and implementation of the FQ in development of tools and online services, consultations with the target groups (AE, developers of programmes courses & modules for training of AE, managers, decision makers and evaluators in the field of adult education) and promotion of services are planned for the two year project. Virtual communication platform (VCP) will be employed for supporting collaborative activities and provision of service. Methodology for development and implementation of the FQ, description of AE practice in Knowledge society, the FQ of AE in Knowledge Society, interactive tools and online services for target groups are envisaged as the main outputs in the project.

Objectives :
The objectives of the project are:
to determine (develop and coordinate) methodology for development of the FQ and implement it into service development;
to identify developmental trends of adult education and future vision of the Adult Educators' profession and to give functional description of “Adult Educator in Knowledge Society”;
to rank competencies of Adult Educator according to requirements of Knowledge Society on profession of Adult Educator, inventory/utilize outputs from previous initiatives and define qualifications and competencies of Adult Educators (intrinsic to Knowledge Society);
to develop FQ based on vision of Adult Educators' profession in Knowledge Society and introduce it to cultural-educational contexts of participating countries;
to develop tools and guidelines for use of FQ in adult education practice and integrate them into an interactive on-line service for four target groups (see point E in 3.1);
to develop and sustain environment for communicating ideas of Knowledge Society and LLL, application of FQ and usage of practical tools and guidelines with target groups.
Target group :
Project is designed to meet the needs of four target groups:
Adult Educators: teachers of adults, tutors, counsellors, mentors, AE/LLL managers, etc.
Developers of programmes, courses & modules for vocational training and continuing education of adult educators
Managers and decision makers in the field of AE
Evaluators: promoters of self-evaluation inside AE institutions, national and international agencies for quality assurance of AE services, bodies of accreditation of vocational training and continuing education of adult educators, and bodies of certification of adult educators

Functional description of an adult educator playing different roles (mentor, counsellor, tutor, promoter of learning organization/community/region etc.) in the arena of adult education (focus on new functions)
