Description
The overall objective of this integrated project is to initiate and support innovation in traditional European food staff and agricultural products.
GBI Consulting is in particular involved to implement Work package 8 of the project in Austria. The overall objective of Work Package 8 is:
• Identify and overcome barriers of technology transfer between research & development sector on the one side and food processing and agriculture on the other side whereas the specific focus is put on small and medium sized enterprises.
• Present scientific innovation in formats suitable for SMEs in food industry and agriculture.
• Develop a long term sustainable training / communication system.
• Expand the training capacity at the European Food Industry Federations The project work contains:
• Establishment of structured links between in science & research sector and food industry as well as agriculture through the creation of permanent training and dissemination Units on the national level.
• Enhance the capacity of Training and dissemination Units to dialogue and interchange between research & development and the small and medium sized enterprises of food sector.
• Make project results available to a numerous of stakeholders (food processing companies, agricultural production, representatives of these sectors, consumer associations, policy makers and research /development institutes not involved in this particular project).by adopting target oriented strategies and implementing specific tools for dissemination and exploitation In order to implement the project a Training and dissemination Unit was established in order to ensure the link between processing companies and the research & development institutes. Each TDU is managed by a Technical Scientific Mediator.
