Objective
Almost all of us have suffered a Musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) of some type or another. Whilst for several of us a back, or neck ache can go with minor intervention, for many the problem can be chronic. Home life becomes a daily struggle, work can not be completed and lively hoods are ruined.
At mDurance we have been developing a product that can rapidly analyse the complex data from non-invasive EMG (Electromyographic) sensors and present this to physiotherapists in an understandable format. EMG analysis allows visualisation of the electrical activity of the skeletal muscles in order to precisely pin-point which muscles are performing as they should and which are not. Current solutions that attempt to do this needed custom adaptation to each patient and situation, useful results take upto 45 minutes to generate and the costs are prohibitive for the overwhelming majority of physiotherapists. Based on the result of several years of research work and various scientific papers, mDurance has unique data processing that generates results within 5minutes. Running in the cloud and using low-cost EMG sensors we are aiming to drive uptake of this form of patient analysis to standard physiotherapist clinics. The result will be much faster MSD diagnosis and properly targeted and monitored rehabilitation exercises and processes. Additionally, we also target Hospitals and other organisations assessing the capacity of workers, as well as the sports market where we can increment athlete performance, better protect against injury and decrease rehabilitation times. The market is vast. There are over 1 million physiotherapy specialists worldwide and around 200,000 Health & Wellbeing Centres plus professional and high performance sport clubs together worldwide. With a dedicated go-to-market plan, we aim to take a 0.75% market share growing to 22 employees by 2023 and a total revenue of 10.76M Euros.
