Description
Training, held at PINZ institution Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology (CPIT) campus in Christchurch, was a tailored 10-week technical train the trainer and skill-upgrading programme for the 20 specialist TVTC computing instructors. These Technical Institute Staff Trainers will return to Saudi, across the Kingdom, as master-trainers in their specific fields of ICT in TVET at the government technical institutes, and train staff to teach certificate, diploma and degree courses.
Fifty percent of training covered specialist programs in network administration, operating systems, applied network administration (basic and advanced levels) and technical education, and 50% of training focused on English language improvement for adult learners, and for teaching in a foreign language. TVTC staff also completed Certificate in Adult Teaching components during the course.
Programme tailoring, adult teaching training, curriculum design, course materials development, and competency-based assessment schedules and resources were developed.
PINZ also managed the provision of program tuition; access to all Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology facilities and student services; health insurance; local transport; accommodation; meals and translation.
