Description
CLIENT: Central Authority for Water and Sewage, CAWSS, Afghanistan.
CONTRACT VALUE: 1.740.000 EUR - In association
The project aims at enabling Kabul Water Supply (KWS - water utility of Kabul) to operate the water supply installations rehabilitated and renewed under the on-going German Financial Cooperation projects and to improve performance of KWS in operation and maintenance services as well as in commercial management. The consulting services required under the project are to support the on-going process of institutional reform and institution building of KWS, to provide support and training in technical management and to support KWS in the field of commercial management.
SERVICES
- Consulting services for Top-Management of Kabul Water Supply (KWS) in adopting Afghan Institutional Reform process - transformation from centralised and hierarchical structures to market-orientation and decentralised system,
- Consulting services in organisational restructuring, staffing and corporate rules/ salary structures,
- Improvement of operation and maintenance procedures of all water facilities (pumps, generators, reservoirs) and of the water distribution network,
- Consulting and training services in technical management of KWS: Water meter reading and installation, leak detection and network maintenance, operation of electrical system components of water facilities, store / workshop management and water quality management, usage of CAD and GPS systems for water-related issues, hydraulic analysis of water distribution system,
- Consulting and training services in institutional strengthening of KWS: Business planning, O&M/ service contracts as a way of PSP and Management Information System,
- Organisation of study tours to Jordan in the field of technical management and to Germany in the field of utility management for top management of Ministry of Urban Development, CAWSS and KWS.
