Haute Ville de Tananarive

In the framework of the cooperation between the Région Ile-de-France and the Urban Community of Antananarivo (Madagascar), RC Heritage assessed the tourism and heritage potential of the capital for the Comité Régional du Tourisme Paris Ile-de-France.  The field mission focused on the analysis of the cultural tourism sector and on the assessment of the Haute-Ville (high city) in view of its possible nomination for inscription on the World Heritage List. The mission permitted to highlight the specificity and uniqueness of the site in comparison with the other African urban centres and to define a first set of opportunities for the development of the cooperation in the field of cultural tourism that could be implemented in the coming years.
