Contract description: Lot 1: Technology Demonstrator for the train car body shell: delivery of moulding tools for doors manufactured with composite materials using compression moulding process or equivalents. The objective is to obtain a double leave door for an interregional train. The main dimensions
of these leaves are approximately as follows: Length 2.70 m x Width 0.75 m x Height 0.20 m. They have a significant longitudinal curvature (Figure 1). The doors also integrate the glass, the open system and the sealing. Two compression-moulding tools are expected to be supplied in order to manufacture both right and left door leaves afterwards. The characteristics of the materials used during the PIVOT2 project require a cycle of 150ºC temperature and 8 bars of pressure. Therefore, the materials proposed by the contractor for the tools should guarantee the functionality of the tools in the specific cycle (pressure and temperature).
