Description

A total amount of 5,32 million euro has been invested in this project. ICCO has invested 1,3 million.  Of these 1,3 million, 120.000, - euro is invested in the factory. The biggest part is a grant for the training of small farmers, improvements in production, promotion of the project and the formation of cooperations.

The structure of the investments
FrutaSã has a joint venture with QuaTerNes. The investors are co – shareholders. The total budget is divided in two. A part goes directly to FrutaSã and another part to the farmers. QuaTerNes manages a part of the budget that is meant for the factory. Another part is managed by IDB and ICCO.

Risk management
If the confirmed private investments of 1 million euro don’t come through, then QuaTerNes will guarantee this.

The partners within this project also count on the abilities of ICCO. There has to be a balance between the economical side: making the company profitable; and a social side including fortification (of the production) of the farmers, the care for training and expansion to new producers.

The business plan for this project is based on the period 2011 – 2015. This concerns a pilot, that can be expanded in case of success with more suppliers and different areas.
