Description

Cambridge Education supplied technical assistance to help Romania develop its Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system.

Through EU Framework project funding, Cambridge Education supported the creation of a single high quality TVET system in Romania. The aim is that the system should be able to contribute to the economic and social stability of the region by providing a highly skilled workforce that meets the needs of the economy.

The project supports the creation of a coherent national TVET system. A major challenge is to design a system that allows access and progression at all levels in line with agreed occupational standards. These features need to be underpinned by appropriate reforms within TVET qualifications, fitting to a modern, demand-driven TVET system.

The task includes creating institutional capacity at national and regional levels, as well as systematic reform in the design and development of specific VET systems. Taken together, these reforms will support the creation of the new national system.

Contributing activities include establishing occupational standards, collating labour market information, developing systems and materials for curriculum, assessment, certification, quality assurance and management. Links will be improved among agencies engaged in social partnerships, careers guidance, development planning and marketing of qualifications.
