Description
The overall purpose of the project was to assist the Government of Maldives, and in particular the Elections Commission in the preparation of general democratic elections in accordance with the goals set in the Maldivian Reform Roadmap and in line with the international standards as stated in the Universal Declaration of Human rights (1948) and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (1966) and the Declaration of Principles for International Election Observation (2005).

The project was specifically aimed at providing the Government of Maldives, the EU Delegation and other stakeholders with technical advice and related support for election preparation that were under consideration by the Governement of Maldives to achieve its Global Objective. |
