Radio-chromatograph for PET radiopharmaceuticals

Description: Requirements for a high-performance Radio Ion Chromatography System with related columns and detectors (hereinafter referred as “the System”), to be installed at the End-User location in the framework of a Technical Cooperation (TC) project. The System will be used for Quality Control (QC) and/or synthesis of SPECT and PET Radiopharmaceuticals, plus for the education and training of participating staff on QC and/or synthesis of selected radiopharmaceuticals.

The System shall meet the following functional, performance and technical requirements:

• Contain a dual-functioning pump capable to mix the specific solvents at various ratios constantly (known as: Isocratic), or change the ratio during the operation time (known as: Gradient) and push the mixture into the next part; the pump shall be solvent compatible and resistant to corrosion with constant flow delivery independent of back pressure and low dead volume;
• Contain an injector component so that the 5-20 μL samples are introduced as a plug, without disturbing the column packing equipped with a small guard column. This component shall be able to withstand the high pressure of the mobile phase;
• Contain columns with high analytical performance used for qualitative and quantitative analysis of ingredients in the tested samples;
• Contain detectors for detecting the various ingredients in tested samples with high precision at nano- to pico- molar levels. The choice is among CD, ED, UVVis DAD and radioactivity detectors (with the appropriate shielding, where applicable);
• Be compatible with the electricity supply at the End-User’s location;
• Include PC or Laptop working with the latest version of Windows and the latest appropriate analysis software; and
• Include Installation kits with at least standard solutions for initiation, tubing, degassing parts and junctions for tubing.
