Tractebel Engineering designed the first tramway line ever to be constructed in the city of Angers. The line is 12km long, and comprises 25 stations, seven substations and dispatching infrastructure.
We did the detailed design of:
The overhead lines.
The electrical infrastructure (substations, feeder cables).
The signalization.
The dispatching.
Ancillary systems (passenger information, video + audio, fibre optics, etc.).
Using TENSION, an in-house developed computer program, Tractebel Engineering was able to dimension and design substations, feeder cables and control systems. Moreover, the program enabled us to implement several improvements.
Within the same project, Tractebel Engineering also designed a maintenance centre for 20 to 40 trams and 40 buses. We were responsible for the detailed design, works supervision and commissioning of:
Tram and bus maintenance equipment.
The railway track.
The overhead lines.
The signalization.
