Tractebel Engineering offered technical assistance during the development (up to bid delivery) to the Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority (ADWEA) for the Shuweihat III 1,600 MW combined cycle power plant. The plant will be built 250 km to the southwest of the city of Abu Dhabi, in the U.A.E.
Tractebel Engineering was responsible for:
Analysing the Request For Proposal (RFP) issued by the ADWEA.
The plant configuration optimization with selection of the type and the number of gas turbines, and the optimization of the water-steam cycles taking into account evaluation criteria specified in the RFP.
Drafting the Owner’s specifications based on the RFP and the existing complementary specifications.
Analyzing the tender of the selected potential EPC contractor.
Technical clarifications with the potential EPC contractor up to the bid.
Finalization of the bid with optimized tariff.
Clarification sessions and negotiation with ADWEA authorities after the bid.
Thanks to the presence of a regional office in Dubai, Tractebel Engineering was able to offer the client a unique combination of technical expertise, knowledge of the local environment and working proximity.
We optimised the plants’ configurations, considering the RFP evaluation criteria (technical and economical criteria).
